THE Choco-Chocolate Banana Protein Shake

The Choco-Chocolate Banana Protein Shake - Banana, Progenex Chocolate Protein Powder, Almond Milk, Almond Butter -

My hubby's post workout ritual is a chocolate coconut water mixed with progenex (protein powder), but I've never really liked it because it's super watery. My alternative too that was - nothing... which obviously isn't a good choice because your body needs to be replenished (especially after a heavy lifting day). Anyway, so Matt was getting frustrated with me that I wasn't taking a protein shake or eating anything right after we worked out, and therefore - The Choco-Chocolate Banana Protein Shake was created! I'm pretty much addicted now...

Also, I always use frozen fruit in my shakes because it gives them a thicker consistency (and I have stockpiled fruit in the freezer, so I never have to worry about not having it on hand). To see my other post on the best way to freeze fruit see "The How (and the why) of Freezing Fruit".

The Choco-Chocolate Banana Protein Shake

Prep Time: 3 minutes                     Servings: 1 (large serving)


1 Banana (frozen)

1 scoop of chocolate protein powder (Progenex is a-m-a-z-i-n-g and there is no grainy texture like other protein powders - Progenex More Muscle - Belgian Chocolate)

1 1/4 c vanilla almond milk

1 tbsp almond butter



1. Put all ingredients into a blender. My Ninja Master Prep Professional is my favorite! 

2. Blend. 

3. Drink up and enjoy!
